Project Cubbins: Hat 185 - Sequins Out of the City Edition

Day 185 / Hat 185: Loose-knit gray beret festooned with silver sequins from the Bride's headwear collection.

She: "I think that's the beret I got in Las Vegas for the Barry Manilow concert."

Me: "I think you're right. By the way, are these sequins or paillettes?"

She: "Paillette is just a high-falutin' French word for sequin."

Me: "Oh."

And, in case you never thought about it, you CAN'T use the flash on an iPhone when taking a selfie - at least not that I could figure out. So I had to lean over in the passenger seat to take this.

OK, nice hat -- but what exactly is Project Cubbins, anyway?

A: One man's homage to Dr. Seuss and his second book, "The 500 Hats of Bartholemew Cubbins," which is celebrating the 75th anniversary of its publication in 2013, Project Cubbins is an attempt to document the wearing of a different hat or piece of headgear every day for 500 consecutive days. No do-aheads, no banking of hats, no retroactive entries. PC started on May 27, 2013 with Hat 1

Got hats? If you loan 'em, you'll get e'm back safe and sound!
