Day 345 / Hat 345: Black plastic welder's mask/helmet with and smoked black glass lens. Lest any of you think does not qualify as "headgear" (remember I said "hats and headgear" when I started this Project), it is attached to a padded black and gray inner head harness that allows the mask to be flipped up.
Pressed into the plastic are various and sundry pieces of information includsing: "This mask is made of impact resistant polypropylene & conforms to CE EN175 & American ANSI Z87.1 standard."
Loaned to the Project via the MRBOH, this belongs to Marilyn's mechanic friend who asked that it be returned as soon as possible because he needs it for work. That's right, MR wrangled me a working welder's mask!

Q: OK, nice hat -- but what exactly is Project Cubbins, anyway?
A: One man's homage to Dr. Seuss and his second book, "The 500 Hats of Bartholemew Cubbins," which celebrated the 75th anniversary of its publication in 2013, Project Cubbins is an attempt to document the wearing of a different hat or piece of headgear every day for 500 consecutive days. No do-aheads, no banking of hats, no retroactive entries. PC started on May 27, 2013 with Hat 1.
