Project Cubbins: Hat 468 - This is a Band of Outsiders Stealth Snap Edition

Day 468 / Hat 468: Hunter green wool baseball-style fitted flat bill cap with tone-on-tone embroidered backwards "B." Interior label reads: "Band of Outsiders," interior tag reads: "Cooperstown Cap," and additional tag reads: "made in the USA." Size tag inside crown reads: "7 3/8."

This was stealth-snapped at the grand opening party for the first U.S. bricks-and-mortar BOA store (and only the second one ever -- the first ever opened in Tokyo late last year).

We didn't think Band's founder and creative director Scott Sternberg would mind  -- after all dude man waxes whimsical about baked goods in a cookie blog side project he adds to when he's not hard at work at the helm of one of our favorite labels of all time.

Oh, and you should check out the store the next time you're in NYC. I'll be writing a little something about it in my professional capacity sometime soon. But if you want to know more about it before then, it's at 70 Wooster Street (between Spring and Broome) in SoHo.

Q: OK, nice hat -- but what exactly is Project Cubbins, anyway?

A: One man's homage to Dr. Seuss and his second book, "The 500 Hats of Bartholemew Cubbins," which celebrated the 75th anniversary of its publication in 2013, Project Cubbins is an attempt to document the wearing of a different hat or piece of headgear every day for 500 consecutive days. No do-aheads, no banking of hats, no retroactive entries. PC started on May 27, 2013 with Hat 1
