Project Cubbins: Day 318 - Tarnish Up Top Edition

Day 318 / Hat 318: Open-weave straw hat with two-inch brim, brown grosgrain hatband and beige grosgrain sweatband interior. Additional detail includes deconstructed linen and grosgrain pom-pom on hatband. Interior label reads: "Tarnish" and tag reads: "100% natural straw, made in Italy."

Loaned to the Project from the Bride's headgear holdings. Of its provenance she says: "I bought that at Loehmann's -- the one on La Cienega that's now closed -- before we went to New Orleans with Kathleen."

Indeed we have photographic evidence of said hat out in the wild in the form of a photo of the Bride and her sister kickin' it in the Crescent City two Memorial Day weekends ago.

FY collective I's, Tarnish is a Nordstrom department store private label (aka "house brand").

Q: OK, nice hat -- but what exactly is Project Cubbins, anyway?

A: One man's homage to Dr. Seuss and his second book, "The 500 Hats of Bartholemew Cubbins," which is celebrating the 75th anniversary of its publication in 2013, Project Cubbins is an attempt to document the wearing of a different hat or piece of headgear every day for 500 consecutive days. No do-aheads, no banking of hats, no retroactive entries. PC started on May 27, 2013 with Hat 1
